How was it a great victory? Didn’t he come in second? And forgive me, what’s up with the run-offs anyway? Doesn’t the guy with the most votes win (and not the two guys with more votes than the other guy)?
I thought the “great victory” language was kind of odd. I suppose it arises from the fact that this race was always about who gets into the runoff. By that standard, Benjamin and Finlay both won, and Morrison lost.
In South Carolina, you can’t get elected without getting 50 percent plus one vote. If nobody gets that on the first try, there’s a runoff between the top two.
There’s also a runoff in the District 4 council race, between Tony Mizzell and Leona Plaugh. That is going to help Finlay, because it will bring out more voters in his own district, where his strongest support is.
Great victory—I’m thinking Kirkman went church on Easter and got confused and thought they were talking about him….seems to be a peril for politicians of his ilk, if not all ilks..pan-ilk..Omni-ilk

My vote is for Benjamin because a black mayor will balance out the Confed. flag and hopefully remove it later on. My vote is for Plaugh in the dist. 4 race. This is mostly for entertainment purposes, she will stir up things and make the council meetings more lively. Poor council members…. she’s backkkkkkkkkkkkk!
Leona knows where a lot of the bodies are buried, and with a lot of newbies on council– Sam Davis is now the longest serving, and he’s too nice to really point out the bad stuff, and then Daniel and Tameika–that’s a good thing.
