If there’s any doubt that moving the city’s municipal election to November would increase turnout, take a look at how many city voters voted in the Nov. 2008 presidential election versus how many voted on April 6:

NOTE: Numbers don’t include absentee or fail safe ballots.

    An astute comment on his blog pointed out that in November, you would get a lot of people who showed up to vote only knowing about the headliner candidates, while at this time, the election is front and center. People who voted today actually cared about this election.

    Thought that was sort of the kind of voter you preferred.

    Democracy is a numbers game; let the people decide. In the broadest, most inclusive sense would seem best to me. As if people can’t follow multiple candidates. Yes, I know that too many cannot . . .
