Sanford video (and it actually WORKS!)

Finally, I’ve figured out a way to share video with you that seems to work. Please give me feedback on this: Does it work for you? Do you want more? I have several other Sanford clips. Do you want me to go back and post video on other candidates I’ve written about? I have clips on all of them; I’ve just been saving them up for lack of a good way to post them.

Anyway, this one features S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford explaining how he believes he has improved "soil conditions" for economic development. This is from his endorsement interview with The State‘s editorial board on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006.

    Comments on the video production:
    1) How about investing $20 in a tripod?
The bouncing and shaking of the video is
    annoying
    2) At the 3:20 mark, it starts over again with what appears to be the “directors cut” of the same video… complete with all sorts of wipes, jump cuts etc. I think that must have been a mistake. Needless to say, Martin Scorsese has nothing to fear …
    As for the content:
I will vote for Sanford in November and would vote for him in a heartbeat if he ran for President. Every time I see/hear Sanford speak, I come away impressed. He is comfortable with the stands he takes and his opinions (which are obviously his own).
He has a command of the facts, can speak in paragraphs without resorting to boilerplate rhetoric, and was surprisingly candid and introspective about the impact he has had on the budget process – win or lose. Sanford comes off as the polar opposite of George Bush.

Sanford has my respect because he treats tax dollars like it is the people’s money, meaning it belongs to those of us who pay taxes. Most of the other politicians look at state tax dollars as free monopoly money and if it isnt spent before the year is out it is lost forever. We could use Sanford in the White House. The whole country could.

Tripod wouldn’t work because I wouldn’t be able to participate in the interview if I were standing behind one of those, and a table tripod is too intrusive. Using my little digital camera, I can hold it discreetly down next to my notebook while playing the host, asking questions, and taking notes.
Sorry about the editing problem. I confess I didn’t watch it all the way through. I just went ahead and posted when I saw the sound and image were OK.

I would vote for Sanford for President without hesitation. He is candid and conservative The State hates that!
