Among the various groups promoting various causes here in this key presidential primary state is one backed by U2’s Bono and other celebs, which is having its coming-out party tomorrow at the State House:
On Wednesday, July 11th at 11:00AM, we’re bringing the fight to end
extreme poverty and global disease to the 2008 presidential campaign by
launching the South Carolina branch of ONE’s largest initiative ever:
ONE Vote ‘08.Former Governor Jim Hodges and other South Carolina leaders will be on
hand to kick off this historic initiative.
I’ve run into several people around town who are working with this organization — the ex-Gov. among them — although I haven’t heard anything really official from them until now.
Looks like the public is invited, but I suppose they’ll be doing their thing, with or without you.
