On a previous post I mentioned in passing the local effort to get Google Fiber — which is not to be confused with the kind of fiber that you get in bran flakes, but which would supposedly allows us to surf the Web 100 times as fast as we do now — here in Columbia.
Here’s a separate post urging you to sign up for the viral effort to make this happen. Start by becoming a fan of the Facebook page.
Let’s get this thing done. ‘Cause I don’t know about you, but I wanna go fast…
Brad,
Thanks so much for spreading the word about our campaign to try to bring Google Fiber to Columbia, SC! We’re also looking for creative video submissions:

Thanks,

Rural areas will get this first. In fact I know places in the midwest that already have fiber to the household. It was explained to me that rural areas are being served first because of some 1930’s telecommunication ruling… that installation companies can make more money doing rural installations than urban installations.
So, Mad Man, make a video!
