Democratic Leader Applauds SC Senate for Aid to Corridor of Shame
Columbia, SC – South Carolina Senate Democratic Leader John C. Land, III (D-Manning) applauded the state Senate’s vote today on $3.5 million for an infrastructure grant program for the state’s Interstate 95 corridor. The measure sets up the I-95 Corridor Authority to award grants for infrastructure projects.
Senator Land issued the following statement:
“The I-95 corridor has the potential of being an economic force for our state. Unfortunately, generations of neglect have caused this area to become a burden for South Carolina. The grant passed by the Senate, helps us to help ourselves. This is the yeast our area needs for growth.”
‘Today’s vote shows that bi-partisanship is the key to transforming our state and I applaud my colleagues for joining the senators from the seventeen counties along the I-95 corridor.”
