That was the original headline on a blog post at the NYT, and that’s what grabbed me. It’s now been changed to “Arizona Iced Tea Forced to Show Its Papers,” which just doesn’t sing.

Anyway, it’s about the company that makes that product scrambling — in reaction to a threatened boycott that turned out to be a hoax — to tell everyone that it isn’t actually made in Arizona, but in New York. This prompted one reader to respond:

What, Arizona Iced Tea is made in New York! I want to drink it less now that I know it is not from Arizona. I can already imagine the Pace Salsa style commercials from rival iced tea makers. “New York City”

… thereby proving that sometimes, in corporate crisis management, you just can’t win.

So we see the immigration issue continuing to make people crazy and destroy their sense of humor, from Rochdale in the north of England to Arizona to… New York City!
