It’s not personal; it’s just business

Glancing at the header image on my main page a moment ago, it reminded me that I ran into Steve Benjamin at Rotary Monday. So why, you wonder, did I not mention it to y’all? Well, first, I run into newsmakers a lot — we frequent the same places — and only occasionally mention it. Second… well, let me put it this way.

Let’s see if you can guess how I took advantage of this opportunity to speak with Columbia’s mayor-elect. Did I:

A. Grill him about what happened in the traffic accident?

B. Ask him what would be his first act as mayor?

C. Invite him to be on “The Brad Show” (the second installment of which is overdue, for which I apologize)?

No. Instead, I:

D. Told him his campaign still hadn’t paid me for that runoff ad on my blog.

He dutifully made a note to himself to look into that.

Hey, people, I’m running a business here! And I’m really getting into it. I can’t wait until I’m making enough to hire a couple of leg-breakers to help me with these collections.
