Sit down, strap in and stop whining!

Dan Mann, executive director of the Columbia airport, spoke to my Rotary today. He was mostly very understanding of the frustrations that many of us have, particularly with high fares, but he couldn’t resist showing the above video, which makes those of us who complain out to be whiners. (Actually, he didn’t play the whole clip; he played the part starting about two minutes in. But I haven’t yet figured out how to download and edit YouTube videos.)

And of course, the comedian in the clip is right. We ARE babies.

That doesn’t mean I’m not ticked that I have to drive to Charlotte, Greenville, Charleston or Augusta to get a decent price on a plane ticket.

We always fly from Columbia. There is a marginial cost differnce between Columbia and Charlotte but the time to drive plus the additional check in time make the cost difference reasonable. I compare everytime but there is only about $100 a ticket difference.
