Congratulations to Judge Carmen Mullens for waiting until weeks AFTER the November statewide elections to deliver an opinion originally expected by last April. As we have witnessed recently, transparent race politics does cannot always trump due process.
By today’s standards, a high percentage of all 70-year-old capital crimes lacked due process and carried inappropriate penalties. Good on you, Judge Mullens.
