EDITOR’S NOTE: Sheesh. Earlier, I had a headline that said, “Never mind: SCE&G drops request to abandon nuclear project.” That was from a report at thestate.com. That is no longer the operative statement, as Ron Ziegler would say. This is the operative statement:

But go read the whole thing.
Still an important story, but not nearly as important as initially reported.
It’s a formality to try and keep their rate increases in place. They have no intention of ever starting up construction, Many of the workers have left the state or found other jobs. They’re trying to sucker the legislature into getting the state involved in paying for this, which they know won’t happen. Deferring the negativity onto the state legislature.
