OK, here’s a surprise twist:
Update: Per email from the chief, he was not talking about me, at all. Mayor @ElisePartin fed you bad information, causing needless time to even be spent on this. His email begins: “Ms. Kinnard, To be very honest with you, I had not heard your name associated with this …” 😑

Whoa. So… the chief wasn’t talking about her at all?
I reached out to the mayor, and she said she was just about to call me, because she had just found out that the chief wasn’t talking about Meg, and that she — the mayor — had jumped to the wrong conclusion when she reached out to me before.
“I looked at it too quickly,” she admits. Having learned that, she wanted to let me know.
So, I guess, never mind. And I hereby apologize to readers for having posted something that wasn’t true.
And to Meg, too. Fortunately, she’s in a (mostly) forgiving mood:
As far as I’m concerned, this is over. I’m satisfied with the school system and was ALWAYS satisfied with law enforcement. I’m not, however, satisfied with the mayor’s decision to reach out to you. But, c’est la vie. ☮️
