About 11 hours ago, Walter Powell Jr. — one of three unsuccessful candidates in the race to replace Kirkman Finlay III on Columbia city council — put this out on Twitter:
After careful consideration, I have chosen to endorse Leona Plaugh for Columbia Council District 4. Vote Plaugh Tuesday, April 20th….
So far it’s a bit like the proverbial tree falling in a forest — The State hasn’t picked up on it; nor did I find it on Leona’s Web site — but her runoff opponent Tony Mizzell noticed. He told me about it over coffee this morning.
Brad,
Yes, after careful consideration I did choose to endorse Leona Plaugh for Columbia City District 4. I would be happy to explain my reasons to you or anyone that wants to know? I’m very straight forward with my reasons why I made my decision. Its nothing personal against Mr Mizzell as he has taken it. Several text messages from him have proven that.
I would like to talk to you as well. Please feel free to call me anytime 803.513.5040
Walter
