I’ve been chatting with Alexa all week on my new Echo Dot.

For some reason, my wife posted the above on Facebook and tagged me…

    Almost as cool as the virtual assistant — and she’s pretty cool — is the Bluetooth speaker my daughter gave me to go with it (since the Dot doesn’t have the big speaker of the full-sized Echo).

    We gave my youngest one before she went back to Dominica — to play music from her phone in her classes — and ever since then I’ve been trying to justify buying one for myself. I’ve had trouble, because my main “need” has been to have something to amplify my Pandora while I’m cooking out on the deck.

    And now I have one! All good things come to those who sit on their wallets and wait…

      Frankly, I can’t imagine why anyone would buy anything bigger than the Dot. It does everything the big Echo does, once you connect it to a speaker.

      And unless you need big sound, the built-in speaker on the Dot is fine for routine interactions…
