He DOES have a suit!

Sanford_tuxI was looking for a recent picture of either Andre Bauer or Mark Sanford — or preferably both together — to adorn my last post. I didn’t find any of Andre (sorry), but I did run across this AP photo from Feb. 26. The caption says: "South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford arrives with his wife Jenny at the
annual State Dinner for the Nations Governors at the White House in
Washington, Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006."

So you see he CAN get dressed up, for the right occasion.

Another example of how impartial Brad Warthen is towards Governor Sanford.
Perhaps if the Governor wears a tux to the next meeting with the editorial board, he will get more respect.

Lee, Gov. Sanford has a well known rep for frugality. He slept on a cot in his DC office at times to avoid hotel bills as I understand it. I think the tux is worth some tongue in cheek humor. If he grew a beard and let his hair grow a bit, he would be Lincolnesque. President somday, who knows.

Bill, I have heard that unproven theory. He was married and had written a long series of love letters to Mary Todd. He also spent a lot of time with her so the theory is obviously heavily disputed. The most important aspect of all this may be that he was not a practicing homosexual. Many of us believe that gayness is not a sin, but practicing that is. Back in the days of the mid 1800’s and later, including the gay nineties, to be gay meant to be happy, spirited, joyous, etc. Even the Christmas song where we all would sing, “Don we now our gay apparel” shows the true meaning of gay. So, back then, Lincoln may have been a gay fellow, but my guess is it was in the “nice” definition of the word.

Many homosexuals are and were married. And they’re is also proof that he was a practicing
homosexual.Let’s just hope he got it right.Practice makes perfect.Refer to the Andrew Sullivan link on this blog.I’ve heard him make an excellent case for Lincoln’s homosexuality.
I don’t care for the word “gay” either, why don’t we just call and treat each others as human beings.
I would say that at least ten percent of the clergy in SC is made up of married, practicing homosexuals.

Lincoln had a thing for prostitutes, which is a sympton of some sort of gender dysfunction.
