For those of you who are not completely fed up with the topic (and that’s a dwindling number) please note that I have applied my new policy in several cases in this string of comments. I’m being a little more explanatory than I would otherwise, just to try to help folks understand the new standards. As we go forward with this, I may start making the offending messages disappear entirely.
I agree with your policy. Your blog, your rules. I still think there are some posters who DID sign up with full names that are extremely obnoxious, but like I said: your rules.
Well, I’m not trying to achieve perfection, because I want people who are willing to stand behind their words to be free to express themselves. Freedom and perfection are incompatible; you have to have a balance.

Sorry about the last 9 posts. I asked my son to help me figure out how to insert a link into my blog posts and so that’s his handiwork. On this subject, I agree with what you’re doing. You may want to create a list of common incivilities that trigger deletion and have the offender directed to that list if he or she wants further explanation. For example, DELETED, by BW, for posts reminiscent of our slash and burn poster child.
