Looks like I’m an FOB

Still doing e-mail. Bill Clinton writes me, wanting money. Maybe you want to give. Be my guest. Mention my name. Maybe Bill will write to you, too.Clinton

Whenever I receive stuff like this, from either party, I think of Bugs Bunny’s immortal words: "He don’t know me very well, do he?"

Like I’d give a wooden nickel to see either party in charge of Congress. From the other side, I see these messages talking about how scary it is to think of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. Hey, it scares me, all right. The only thing I can think of as scary as that is having the Republicans in charge.

The first step toward getting MY party into power is for Joe Lieberman to win as an independent. Then, all we’ll need is 50 more of him. I’m patient; I can wait. But I wonder if the country can.

I’d like to draft Joel Lourie, McCain, Graham, and Joe Riley into this party as well.
Pelosi as speaker; Trust Fund Reid as Majority leader; Kennedy, Schumer, Billary, as major players!?!??! Not an inspiring vision.
Keep the Culture of Corruption we have now? No thanks.
    Where’s that Unparty guy?

BTW, when will the dems realize they need some leadership from states outside of the NE and far west.

You call Joe Lieberman independent? He’s been hugging Hannity and kissing Bush’s butt ever since 2001!He’s nothing but a political hack out for his own twisted ego and not a man enough to step away when the people of his party ask for another guy to better represent them. Get a clue! Please!
    Anybody but JOeitsallabout me!

    Ozy buttresses Joe’s independent credentials.
BTW, he represents his STATE not just his PARTY.
    Let’s Go Joe!

Joe Lieberman is only Independent in the sense that he openly disdains the voters of Connecticut. After losing his election, he uses an archaic loophole that allows him to run again after losing, only as an “Independent”. He is nothing but a pathetic egomaniac. To those who would follow that piece of crap, I say, you get what you deserve.

Archaic loophole? If the people in Connecticut don’t like it that candidates in that state can use loopholes, then they should change the law. But until then it seems a little silly to me to excoriate Lieberman for taking advantage of any available legal means to get re-elected. By the way, Lieberman is a HUGE liberal on every issue but the war on terror, and was willing to seel out any and ALL of his long-held positions to be AlGores’ b*tch. Also by the way, loophole or not it looks like he’ll beat Ned Lamont next month. Ed

Ed, you prove my point. After being eliminated by his party, he is doing whatever it takes to get re-elected. That shows a lack of respect for the voters who already rejected him. I won’t go in to the complexities as to why he may win, but I will reaffirm my opinion that he is one of the alltime POS in the Senate. His concern is not for the people of CT, but for himself. He is a lifetime politician scared crapless at the prospect that he may lose his cushy job. Go on all of you “independents”, let’s hear why this guy is so great.

I don’t think I proved anything of the kind. As I understand it, typically a tiny percentage of the general population votes in the primaries. That being true, it isn’t surprising at all to me that the greater population of Connecticut has awakened and realized a serious error was committed in the primary, which they they seem determined to fix in the general election. I don’t get all your vitriol and calumny for Lieberman. What’s up with that? He’s just a typical huge lib from from a hugely liberal state…nothing to see here people…move along. To say that Liebermans’ desire to get elected using whatever legal means necessary equates lack of respect for voters who already rejected him is silly. Again…primary voters rejected him narrowly. Given his chances of winning the general election, the primary voters do NOT represent the greater population of Connecticut. Get over it. Heck, who cares anyway? It’s only Connecticut…the only interest this whole issue holds for me is the embarrassment a Lieberman win will bring to Hillry and the rest of the Democratic machine that backed Lamont because they hate Liebermans’ war stance. This is gonna be good, if for that reason alone. Ed

Tim you crack me up … I bet Americans for Democratic Action would LOVE to have Republicans who have Joe’s ADA rating. The average Republican rating is in the teens, Joe’s the last couple of years is in the mid-70s and in ’05 it was 80. The closest Republicans to him are Snow and Collins from Maine, who hit 65. I suspect you also think Bill Nelson is a Republican too? (He also was at 80).
Lieberman may not be your type of Democrat, but one thing he isn’t is a Republican.
