That’s all I can think after glancing through this offering of “one-line films created by the Oscar-winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminski.”
Which, the credits tell us, were produced by The New York Times Magazine.
And which star Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Bradley Cooper, Oprah Winfrey and others.
Wow. Apparently, some newspapers still have money to waste…
I saw a guy reading a paper at the Courthouse today. What a hipster.
I rather liked them. Better than the sort of trend hype the Times mag usually has…
But to what purpose? In what way did they advance the newspaper’s mission?
As for the quality — they were crafted to be beautiful, but they were mainly pretentious.
Of the ones I watched, the only one I liked was the one with the guy who was “the operative” in “Serenity.”
Speaking of movies, I saw an unexpectedly good little comedy on Netflix last night — “The English Teacher.”
