This poses a puzzler: Would Josh Lyman vote for Brad Hutto? Yes, he’s a Democrat, but would a guy who works for the White House support a guy whose main campaign stand is that he doesn’t think senators should spend their time concerning themselves with national and international affairs?
Would Josh have pulled strings to get the national party to back the Hutto campaign?
No. Josh would have looked at the race, and determined that it would be a waste of the national party’s money to back a race that would ultimately be lost. Sure, Josh would have voted for him, but he wouldn’t have allowed the national party to waste money.
OK, no comments so far, but I did, get a question via Facebook from Beth Rickenbacker:
I said I suppose so. Just don’t vote for him twice, as Josh informs you in this video.
He was also the candidate of some Brand X party–the People’s Party?
That’s exactly what brought this clip to mind when I was looking at a sample ballot last night. (I like to prepare for voting the night before.)
After walking out of my polling place, I wanted to find someone who was supporting Brad Hutto and say “Voted for your guy in all two boxes!”

We watched Recount last night–free on Amazon Prime. Still furious about that, 14 years later….
Gah! Why would you even do that to yourself?
That’s like a Red Sox fan going back and re-watching Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
The acting was amazing, especially Laura Dern, as Katherine Harris, for which she won a Golden Globe.
