Could his moment be about to arrive?

Could his moment be about to arrive?

Some things to talk about..

  1. Putin announces Russia will pull most of its military from Syria — Whoa! What is this — some kind of judo thing, where you pull back and use your adversary’s momentum against him? What’s his game?
  2. American Fighting for Islamic State Is Captured in Iraq — We’re told this is the first American captured fighting with ISIS. I guess that’s because capturing terror suspects isn’t President Obama’s style. He prefers blowing them up. He’s a bit like Omar Bradley in that respect.
  3. If Kasich wins Ohio tomorrow, a door opens to a new possibility — I thought I’d go ahead and throw this out. If I get time, I’ll write a separate post about it. If Kasich wins Ohio and Rubio loses Florida, you have a three-man race — and while Cruz will argue that Kasich should then drop out (as if we’d really be better off with Cruz than Trump), the WSJ this morning made a good case that the three-way competition could make it less likely that Trump can get the full 1,237 delegates by the convention. I think they’re right…
  4. Ex-trooper pleads guilty to shooting — Actually, the headline pretty well states it.
  5. N.C. sheriff weighs ‘inciting a riot’ charge against Trump — Might as well. Things aren’t crazy enough yet, right? And it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy…

Are there any other “quants” who read your blog? Prime numbers, it seems, have decided preferences about the final digits of the primes immediately following them.

Among the first billion prime numbers, for instance, a prime ending in 9 is almost 65 percent more likely to be followed by a prime ending in 1 than another prime ending in 9. There is both numerical and theoretical evidence that prime numbers repel other would-be primes that end in the same digit, and have varied predilections for being followed by primes ending in the other possible final digits.

    A truly prime conspiracy …

Putin has accomplished most (if not all) his goals in Syria:

    1. Assad stays in power.
    2. The Russian naval base at Tartus is secure.
    3. Establish Russia as a major player in the middle-east, and as a corollary, reduce the influence of Western democracies.
    4. Remain allied with Iran.
    5. Flood Europe with refugees.

Remember Putin’s stated reason for going in? Defeating ISIS. Yeah, so after a few months, he’s done. ISIS is still there. However, that was never his real goal. President Obama is so completely feckless in foreign policy, that he’s allowed Russia to completely run the table, and Russia now has massive influence in the middle east without a significant military presence.

    Hell, we ain’t even playing.

I know, I know, Doug and bud will say “That’s good. We shouldn’t be in the middle east. Let’s just leave all those people alone, and they’ll leave us alone.”

Okay. Enough foreign policy. I’m going back to my (by comparison) happy litigation.

As long as he’s got 2 and 3, Putin doesn’t care as much about 1, I think. Joe Doakes could be the dictator of Syria, and as long as he got 2 and 3, Putin would be happy…

Bryan explain how Russian influence in the ME has any impact on our security? We can still buy oil. We can still trade with Europe and the Far East. You call Obama’s policy feckless. I call it pragmatic.

Oh, I guess I’m just old fashioned in that I like America to have influence in hotspots throughout the world. After Hillary gets elected and they send me to a reeducation camp, I’ll be better.

        I denounce myself.

Well if anything good comes out of this election, it will probably be the fact that there won’t be any rappers at the White House for at least four years. Can Obama embarrass this office any more than he and Michelle already have?

bud you’re going to have to explain that because that can be taken a lot of different ways.

I hear there were plenty of Taps played during the Clintons’ first presidency, people associated with them were actually committing suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head. Taps were even played during Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State… “because at 3:00 she let the phone go to voicemail”.
