Ms. Willis takes a, um, DIFFERENT approach from Henry…

Willis video

Do not labor under any delusion that Marguerite Willis’ campaign for governor will be anything like that of Henry McMaster! Here’s proof that it won’t be…

In this new ad — which she either did on the cheap or paid extra to make it look that way — she leaps right to her point:

There’s no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is a racist. He’s a horrible racist. He’s the worst kind of racist, which is a racist who pretends he isn’t a racist….

The ad… lacks context. I feel like I walked in in the middle of a conversation. I want to ask her for an example or two to support her assertion, but I don’t get the chance to interrupt. And anyway, without any sort of transition or pause, she’s immediately off in a whole other direction: “How could we elect a man who says such horrible things about women?…”

Interesting. Not that I disagree with any of the particulars, but gee… where’d all that come from? I mean, gimme a little prelude, or something. Take a moment to tee it up first. Explain why you’re addressing the subject. Is electing Trump the issue before us? Does she think one of her rivals for the Democratic nomination is partial to Trump, or what?…

That’s what you get when you hire political consultants to manage your campaign. “All you have to do is go hard against Trump and you’re the next Governor!”

If Smith runs an anti-Trump campaign, I won’t vote for him.I already won’t vote for McMaster.

This video is kind of like the Tim Kelly fiasco: If you’re trashing Trump, and doing it in such a way that it even makes ME uncomfortable, you must be doing something wrong…

Whether or not you agree that Willis has correctly assessed Trump, consider her assertion that a racist who pretends he’s not racist is the worst kind of racist.

Really? Worse than, say, someone who beats or kills another person because of that person’s skin color (but doesn’t engage in hypocrisy by pretending he’s not racist)?

Yeah. It’s like she’s saying that’s a worse kind of racist than Dylann Roof. It isn’t.

She’s fulminating, and hoping to make an emotional connection. She’s not trying to make sense. Which puts her in the same category as Catherine Templeton — two intelligent women who have to know better, trying to connect with less-intelligent people on a purely visceral level…

So, in order to beat Trump’s candidate, Willis must become Trump.

If your campaign is about how bad the other candidate is and not about your capabilities, you’re toast. We know who Henry McMaster is now. Tell us what you will do as Governor without referencing him or Trump.

Well, and the other weird thing is that neither Trump nor McMaster is “her opponent.” She’s just trying to stir emotions of some Democrats. She’s trying to do what Trump does. Trump exploits people’s emotions regarding foreigners, the media, cultural elites. She’s doing it regarding Trump…

We prefer the label of “Deplorable”. And just as an FYI, we Deporables really don’t care what some nobody who has no chance in hell of being the next SC governor thinks.

This video apparently alarmed Phil Noble, as it encroached on his turf as the Angry Ranter in the race. So he quickly Tweeted that what she said was all well and good, but she’s ranting about the wrong stuff:

You’ll recognize that last bit as another reference to his highly misleading shot at James Smith
