Here’s a bloke who knows what he’s about

Today I got a link to my blog from this blog, which seems dedicated to protecting my man Tony Blair’s rep, and concerns itself with such things as asking people to sign the following petition:

“He’s not a war criminal. He’s not evil. He didn’t lie. He didn’t sell out Britain or commit treason. He wasn’t Bush’s poodle. He hasn’t got blood on his hands. The anti-war nutters must not be allowed to damage Blair’s reputation further. He was a great PM, a great statesman and a great leader.”

And yes, the letters are in red on the original.

Since he (or she) posted a pic from my (old) blog, I’ve borrowed one from his, above. It shows a tanned, rested, ready (although a tad grayer) Tony getting a clean bill of health (we hope).

Perhaps, after this election, Labour will come to its senses and beg him to come back.

Update us on what Tony’s done for mideast peace. He’s been the UN special envoy since leaving office, right?

Given how long he’s been on the world stage, it’s hard to believe Blair is still just in his late 50’s. But you’re smoking something if you think Labour will turn to him after this upcoming electoral thumping it looks like they’re going to get. Bring back the PM that left office with some of the lowest approval ratings in history? while the Iraq inquiry is still underway? while the whole Iraq scenario is turning back towards uncertainty and possible chaos? If Labour wants to cement its position as the new “third” party in Great Britain, maybe they’ll take your advice. Sure he seems more appealing on the surface than dour Gordon Brown. But few in the party will want to turn the clock back.

Besides, Blair himself would likely prefer to keep on making millions as a private citizen, via his oil dealings with those South Korean companies, etc., working his mideast connections. Don’t say he didn’t get anything back from George W. Bush in return for his loyalty…he learned all about Texas-style wheelin’ and dealin’ and the oil business.
