Here’s hoping Mayor Bob gets better quickly:
Doctors are performing tests, including a catheterization, to check for heart blockages after former Columbia Mayor Bob Cable was rushed to a local hospital Wednesday afternoon.
Coble was alert and in good spirits, with family and friends by his side, about 4:30 p.m., said Kevin Floyd, communications manager with the Nexsen Pruet law firm, where Coble works.
John Sowards, the firm’s chairman, said Coble was “feeling poorly in the morning at some committee hearings and that did not get better.” As the day went on, he checked in with State House healthcare staff and, as a precaution, they summoned an ambulance.
That was about 2 p.m.
I hope he is well! Whatever you think of the job he did as mayor, he’s a likeable guy!
Whether likable or not a persons health problems deserve our best wishes.
We all have them, will become afflicted with them, or experience them through someone close to us. That’s life. Not always is it rosy.
FYI, in case y’all haven’t been following: Mayor Bob had a quadruple bypass last night. Son Daniel says he’s not out of the woods yet, but they’re confident and hopeful.
He’s at Providence, which is where I’d want to be under similar circumstances. And yes, Providence is a client of mine (and of Bob’s), but that’s what I would have said long before doing any work for the hospital…
Kudos to you, ever the faithful saint.
I often wonder, though…
My mind wanders…
That ‘special wing of the hospital’ — who was it really built for?
Jake Knotts was the first to speak of it. He’s still alive. So…
Julie Ruff, his longtime assistant, says she is “terrified”–this was late afternoon. I guess it is pretty serious!
