   The timing, metaphor and caricature are as perfect as it ever gets for any cartoonist. Ariail’s genius is rarely matched by others. His coveted awards have been unsurprisingly stellar, but he has not been named SC’s Cartoonist Laureate. What a shame for our state.

         In at least one state, it is.
         Also, is poetry anymore of “a thing”? SC has a poet laureate, so why not a cartoonist laureate like, but better than Vermont’s? http://www.cartoonstudies.org/index.php/tag/vermont-cartoonist-laureate/
