Just thought I’d share this clip I got from Stan Dubinsky. It’s Steve Martin’s take on “the atheist hymnal,” which he undertook to write — a single song, on one sheet of paper. He performed it with the Steep Canyon Rangers perform at Merlefest 2010.
Way more compelling than that Stephen Hawking piece.
Catholics don’t actually dress up much for Mass, it appears to me from the sidelines, and few sing Gregorian Chant any more–mostly hummin’ and strummin’ guitar stuff….more’s the pity…
Great song–it makes you laugh more than once. Thanks for sharing it. If you are a Steve Martin fan, check out his not-quite-Martinesque The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo album released last year. It’s a collection of (mostly) original banjo tunes by Martin. (If you like that kind of thing.)
