Folks, I’ve only received one comment on this blog today — despite lively page-view traffic — and I think I know why. It’s probably because of the thing that one of y’all complained to me about today via e-mail:
Repeatedly i got this message:
An error occurred…
We’re sorry, your comment has not been published because TypePad’s antispam filter has flagged it as potential comment spam.Spam my a__.
Pardon his French, but I understand the frustration. It frequently blocks me, too, and I can’t seem to get the folks at TypePad to understand that this is a problem.
I started suspecting that the problem was worse today than usual when I got three e-mails in a row commenting on today’s column, but there were no comments.
Anyway, if you try to comment, and can’t (or just find the stupid anti-spam requirement that you enter a nearly illegible code unnecessarily inconvenient), please take a moment to write to me about it here. I’ll pass on your complaints. Maybe they’ll listen to you, since they don’t listen to me.
I’ve been getting messages that suggest my posts aren’t going through.
My problem is not a technical one. It’s just that I always seem to have the very last comment on each post. You know, the one that no one actually sees, because there are three or four more recent posts on which to comment.
Oh well.
I tried to post something on that link you gave, but I couldn’t, so please cut and paste this if you will. Whoever invented that completely illegible code is undoubtedly a member of a terrorist operation! He/she is anti-american, anti-god, and anti-anything-else-that’s-good, and should be hunted to the ground, provided with special rendition, and (after he/she has surrendered all useful secrets), be hanged, drawn, and quartered! Now, Brad, if you’ll just provide some of the names of those ah, lovely persons, at Type Pad I’ll be glad to reason with them personally.
first time I have been here all day, I am looking for pics your photographer took at the Alston Wilkes Center with President Clinton on Monday Dec 17th, I was hoping to see if he got a picture of the President and my wife together, the paper ran my picture with the President, hoping to get lucky here.
In case you’re wondering, guys, it was spam my a__.
Here’s hoping this gets through just to let me know that if I have nothing to say, TypePad will let me say it.
Happy holidays, everybody!
test 123 … all previous posting attempts have failed for past two days, blocked by Typepad’s anti-spam filters.
Seems more like an anti-blog filter.
Henceforth you, Jeff Mobley, will be known with a deep and abiding affection as…The Threadkiller.
LOL
I made a post that never showed up sometime in the past week or two. It only happened that once, and I didn’t get an error message.
This is a test post for you, Brad. If you can read this, then I guess the answer to your original question is “yes.”
